Anthony and Monica were in a rut. After the twins grew into toddlers Anthony became somewhat distracted with work and extracurricular activities such as golfing and dining out with associates. He and Monica were going through a very rough patch. They both had such different interests and found that the only conversations they had were about potty training and bills. Anthony just wasn’t interested. His only interest these days was in his work as executive chef in the five star french restaurant that offered him a world class deal. Anthony had no time for diapers and vet visits. It was only a matter of time before he became a resturanteur, owner of his own fine restaurant. That seemed to be the only thing on his mind.

Some days he would be in such a hurry to get to work that he would forget to say goodbye. Monica couldn’t understand how quickly a person could change. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she had no one to talk to since she had left behind all of her friends to move to Cascade Valley. Once again she felt lonely. She thought of calling Gwen or Erin but they were both extremely busy with their own careers and families.

Monica had begun to realize that maybe she had made a monumental mistake when she decided to drop everything in her own life to marry Anthony. She was so afraid of losing him after he graduated though that she was afraid to let him go. She repeatedly thought to herself “if only I could go back.”

Unfortunately, Monica fell back into the depression that had plagued her when they were first married. The housework suffered, the kids weren’t as tended to as they used to be and most of all Monica felt that her marriage was falling apart.

She didn’t have the energy to clean, or cook, or to even call the repair man to fix the dishwasher.

She felt herself gaining weight again too after she had just lost all of the baby weight she had gained with the twins.

And then there was that fire that took place in the kitchen when she forgot about the toaster pastries. She just couldn’t get a handle on the life she chose.

Monica also became quite suspicious of the girl with whom Anthony carpooled with everyday. She bore a striking resemblence to Monica and she was Anthony’s assistant chef. This was a woman that he spent all day with, some evenings and weekends as well. Monica was sure they had much to talk about, most likely the topics he didn’t talk to her about, which was mostly everything that didn’t have the word baby in it.

Speaking of babies, if life wasn’t hard enough for Monica, she had recently found out she was pregnant again. Her first thought was, “please don’t let it be twins again!”

Poor Monica!!! That’s so pitiful… Anthony better wake up and realize what’s happening if he wants to keep his family!

Oh dear, things dont always turn out as we want them and real life can be hard to deal with. I feel for Monica stuck in a strange place with no friends. They need to get a babysitter one night a week and go out and have fun together and maybe a mothers group would help her meet people.
I hope they manage to sort it out and she is able to live with the choices she made

Ohmy! Poor Monica – she needs a girlfriend & pronto! Another adult to talk to at least – maybe her MIL can come over & help with the twins.
I love the shot of that kitchen tho – before the fire that is. lol!
Anthony better wake up & smell the coffee before poor Mon needs to be put in a mental institute! ;p

Poor Monica! Speaking as a stay-at-home mom, myself, she needs to get something that’s of interest to her. Join a women’s or a reading club… or start a home business. Something to keep her active and ‘out there’ and give her and Anthony something to talk about besides the kids. Maybe she and her sisters-in-law could throw lots in together and start a small business (book store, coffee shop, etc)? There’s got to be something she could do that doesn’t require she have a college education.
And *sigh* Anthony needs to open his eyes and see that life isn’t all work, work, work. He should go out, buy Monica a new dress and take her dancing. There’s these things, called nannies, and a night out of both of them work wonders.

Oh I love your Legacy story!! I just started reading today and I would love to read from the beginning, but you’re just so established so I just jumped in at the bottom of the first page. But I LOVE it!! You really make me care about and understand your Sims! Great job!

aw, Monica! So sad that she feels that way. I laughed at the fire, cuz i knew it was gunna happen. I said “look at that smoke. there’s gonna be a fire in the next picture. Wait…no, huh, well, it’s still smoking…there it is! naha!” yes, that is what i said.
